When it comes to being a celebrity, it can be hard to find people who you can trust.
Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds learnt the hard way that one of his close pals was less than reliable when it came to guarding he and wife Blake Lively’s privacy.
The 38-year-old has revealed that a friend betrayed him when they tried to sell intimate photos of his baby daughter taken in the delivery room.
Speaking to GQ magazine, Ryan said: "A guy that I'd known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around.
"I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks."
He then revealed that losing his friend in such a way had a profound effect on him,
Ryan explained: "It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out."
The dad-of-one added: "I mean, I don't think he thought he would ever be caught. But it's a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to. They're just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: 'Here's us in the delivery room!’”
Ryan and Blake, 28, became parents last year when they welcomed daughter James into the world.
The couple took to Instagram and Blake’s lifestyle website Preserve to share the gorgeous news.
