It’s been a tough year for Ruth Langsford following her bitter split from husband of 14 years Eamonn Holmes. But the daytime TV legend was able to let her hair down recently when she jetted off on a much-needed holiday to the Caribbean to celebrate her 65th birthday.
Now, insiders say that her girly getaway – which included close friend and former Homes Under The Hammer host Lucy Alexander, 54 – was the perfect way to heal her heartache.
‘Ruth and Eamonn have been apart for nearly a year now so this was her first birthday without him. She just wanted to have fun and have a giggle with her girlfriends. She’s single and fancy free after all!’
The source continues, ‘She had a few flirts when they were away but nothing serious, she was just having a good time with the girls. Meanwhile, Eamonn is still having to wake up at 2am for his slot on GB News.’
The couple – who worked together on This Morning for years while they were married – announced their split in May 2024.
Shock reports have alleged the final straw came when Ruth overheard Eamonn, 65, on the phone to another woman when he believed he was home alone, though neither have addressed these rumours.
While Ruth has been enjoying single life, Eamonn quickly moved on with girlfriend Katie Alexander, 43. However, a source reports that Eamonn isn’t too pleased about his ex’s recent girls’ trip, especially considering the scant number of holidays he and Ruth took when they were together.
