Russell Brand defends Bruce Jenner from transphobic bullies: ‘He is a human being’

Outspoken star Russell Brand has leapt to the defence of Bruce Jenner this week, after becoming frustrated at the media coverage of his more feminine appearance.

Since splitting from wife Kris in 2014, much has been written about Bruce’s more effeminate appearance - his hair being worn longer and his nails being painted.

But 39-year-old Brand has slammed those for picking on Jenner, speaking out on YouTube show Trews.

‘This is bullying. Stop. Stop. Bruce Jenner is a human being,’ he said.

‘Transphobia seems to be the most recent and encouraged form of prejudice, now that racism and homophobia are not tolerated.’

Brand referenced a recent cover of a US magazine, which shows a retouched photo of Bruce, made up to look like a woman.

The comedian rounded off the piece with: ‘Do you think people should be judged until they’re driven into a hole, perhaps even to suicide? Let us know!’
