Whilst the UK held their breath to catch a first glimpse of our new princess, uncle Prince Harry remained thousands of miles away in Australia.
Luckily, Harry was able to hear the happy news from his army post down under and is reportedly delighted for his brother.
It has been revealed that Prince Harry says his new niece is ‘absolutely beautiful’ and that he ‘can’t wait to meet her’ on his return to the UK.
Kensington Palace also tweeted on behalf of the new parents, writing: "The Duke and Duchess are hugely grateful for the messages of congratulations they have received from people all over the world."
"It means a great deal to them that so many people have celebrated the arrival of their new daughter."
Earlier today, Kate’s parents Carol and Michael Middleton arrived at Kensington Palace alongside sister Pippa to meet the new princess.
William’s father Prince Charles was also spotted arriving at the royal household, bringing his wife the Duchess of Cornwall.
Kate gave birth yesterday morning, delivering a daughter at 8.34am just 2 hours after arriving at St Mary’s Hospital Lindo Wing.
