It seems like yesterday that Victoria Beckham gave birth to son Romeo, but believe it or not he turns 16 today.

The teenager, who celebrated his birthday with godparents Elton John and David Furnish in France, received loving messages from his parents on Instagram to mark the occasion.

David shared a snap of him shaving Romeo's moustache and captioned it, "I cannot believe my little man is 16 years old...

"Happy birthday big boy you are so special and I love you so much x".

Victoria also gave a touching tribute to her son with a picture of them together on holiday in Bali, writing, "Happy Birthday Romeo!Can’t believe our baby is 16 today!!! We all love you so so much @romeobeckham xxx"

The fashion designer also shared a photo of Romeo surrounded by balloons and gifts and wished him happy birthday once again.

Romeo's brothers Brooklyn and Cruz didn't miss the momentous occasion on their social media accounts either, sharing some adorable throwback pictures of them with their brother.

Romeo revealed to fans what he was up to on his birthday, sharing a snap of a heap of SIS Science in Sport products and writing, "Just what you need before a hard training session."

While the Beckham's son has modelled for Burberry on multiple occasions, he often shares snaps boasting his tennis talents.
