Convicted paedophile Rolf Harris could be released from prison in just six weeks after serving only half of his sentence
Disgraced children's TV entertainer Rolf Harris could be released from prison in six weeks.
The 87-year-old, who is currently incarcerated at HMP Stafford, a prison that solely holds sex offenders, has served only half of the five-year and nine-month sentence he was handed in 2014.
In a conviction that shocked the country, he was convicted of 12 indecent assaults against four girls between 1968 and 1986.
However, there is a catch for the convicted paedophile - he is due to stand trial again on 15 May for more offences which have come out recently.
If he is found guilty, he will have to serve a further sentence at HMP Stafford, but if he's cleared then he could be released as early as June.
A source told Sunday People: "Rolf is now counting down the days. He isn't enjoying jail life at all and is desperate to get out.
"His wife Alwen is 85 and has been in failing health, so he wants to be reunited with her as soon as possible."
