Zelda Williams, 25, had been using her Twitter page to thank supporters for their kind words about her comedian father, who tragically took his own life on Monday.
JOSIE CUNNINGHAM CAUSES OUTRAGE: 'I WON'T END UP LIKE ROBIN WILLIAMS'
But the young actress was forced to leave the site when some internet users began posting hurtful comments about her and her Oscar-winning father. One even posted images which supposedly showed her father after his death.
Taking to her Twitter on Tuesday, Zelda wrote: 'Please report @PimpStory and @MrGoosebuster. I'm shaking. I can't. Please. Twitter requires a link and I won't open it. Don't either. Please.'
Zelda was referring to a post by users PimpStory and MrGoosebuster which appeared to show her deceased father after his suicide.
The star later deleted the tweet and added: 'I'm sorry. I should've risen above. Deleting this from my devices for a good long time, maybe forever. Time will tell. Goodbye.'
HOLLYWOOD MOURNS ROBIN WILLIAMS
Zelda has made the same decision with her Instagram account, posting a message to her followers that reads:
'I will be leaving this account for a while while I heal and decide if I'll be deleting it or not. In this difficult time, please try to be respectful of the accounts of myself, my family and my friends. Mining our accounts for photos of dad, or judging me on the number of them is cruel and unnecessary.'
'The real private moments I shared with him were precious, quiet, and believe it or not, not full of photos or 'selfies.' I shared him with a world where everyone was taking their photo with him, but I was lucky enough to spend time with him without cameras too.'
She signed off: 'Thank you for your respect and understanding in this difficult time. Goodbye. Xo'
