The Blurred Lines singer told a Hong Kong magazine that he might not be alive if it wasn’t for his wife and childhood sweetheart, Paula Patton.
‘I don’t know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn’t for Paula. She’s been my rock, my muse, my inspiration and I love her. The whole way,’ said the 36 year-old.
His actress wife – who was said to be ‘unconcerned’ about recent claims by female fan Lana Scolaro that she and singer also kissed - was also interviewed for the magazine.
The actress, who has a three-year-old son with Robin, said she and her husband are ‘best friends.’
'We’re best friends. We laugh a lot. But that’s our down time. We do the things you’re supposed to do, like work out. We love to travel together and travel with our child.’ She said.
The 37 year-old also painted an idyllic picture of the couple’s home life.

‘We don’t have normal jobs. So it’s always a work house. Robin makes music at home and my job when I’m not on set always brings people into our home,’ she said.
As well as their joint interview, the couple put on a public display of affection at Robin’s album launch party in New York on Wednesday.
The PDA’s come after 20 year-old Lana – who first tweeted the picture of her with Robin at a VMA’s after-party – gave an interview claiming she and the singer were ‘passionately kissing’ all evening.
She told a New York magazine: ‘I don’t think he cared what she thought. I was with him the whole night!...His hands were everywhere.’
Lana claims she travelled to the VMAs party in a car with both Robin and Paula.
Paula and Robin aren't concerned
'I went to the bathroom, and when I came out he was standing there,' she explains.
'He turned off the lights so no one could see us, and he started making out with me. He was grabbing me. He was like, "I want to get you into bed!”’
Lana says that the pair did not go any further because they were continuously getting 'interrupted'.
Paula has dismissed the claims with her representative branding Lana: ‘A girl looking for some attention. Paula and Robin aren't concerned.’
