Robbie Williams has opened up about his mental health struggle and has revealed that he battled crippling agoraphobia that left him unable to leave the sofa for three years.
The condition means people are fearful and anxious of situations they can’t escape. Robbie said that during his lowest point he was forced to turn down a £15 million pound deal to take over from Simon Cowell on the US program American Idol, because he was too unwell to leave the house and go out in public.

Robbie says the lyrics pushed him to seek therapy which helped him to be able to go back out into the public and start performing again.
But Robbie said returning to the public was hard after he was criticized for his appearance on The X Factor, describing the experience as “like having a car crash and then learning how to walk again.”
The singer said that things got better after he was asked to join a Take That reunion in 2011.
Robbie also revealed he struggles with body dysmorphia and has an “appalling self image.” The father-of-three also said he suffers from nocturnal Sleep-related Eating Disorder [NS-RED], which means he eats during the night.
However, he went on to add that he is in a better place and is “starting to like himself a little bit more.” He says wife Ayda Field, 40, has been a huge help to get him back on track.
