It seems Rita Ora may be the only ‘safe’ judge on The X Factor panel. It was revealed yesterday that Nick Grimshaw had left the show and now, amid talk of another huge shake up, it’s claimed Rita is the only judge Simon Cowell wants back.

“Rita is his No1 target. He sees her as being the one person that could save the series and make it great again,” an insider told the Star.

The Hot Right Now singer appeared last year alongside Nick, Simon and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

It’s not yet known whether Cheryl will return to the ITV singing competition and now, with Nick out of the frame, there are potentially two seats up for grabs. Reports claim that Louis Walsh is desperate to rejoin the show, after leaving last year. But could he return?

“Louis Tomlinson is very likely to replace Grimmy,” a source told the Sun. “He agreed in principle to the job while assisting Simon during the judges’ houses round last year.

“But Simon remains very fond of Louis Walsh and came very close to bringing him back during last year’s live shows.”

When asked about the shake up, a spokesperson told The Mirror: “No decisions have been taken about the new series of The X Factor. Discussions are ongoing and details will be announced in due course.”
