A source told The Sun: ‘it's been tough for both of them but it's been even harder for them to spend time together recently.’
Rita prompted rumours of a split when she posted a telling post on her Instagram page, reading: ‘Have you ever wondered which hurts the most: Saying something & not wishing you had not, or saying nothing and wishing you had?’
They said that the stars’ busy and conflicting schedules has contributed to the break up. ‘He's been busy DJing and she's working on her new album and shooting Fifty Shades of Grey.’
Calvin’s wish to remain low profile is also cited as a reason the formerly loved-up couple have drifted apart.
‘Calvin is more private when it comes to fame than Rita, which also played a part. He'd be happy to meet someone who has nothing to do with the industry.’
The couple had been dating for 9 months and the relationship was reportedly becoming more serious in recent months.
Rita said in an interview back in November last year: ‘It's great. It's going well - I'm happy. When something is worth having, you make time for it. When you want something, you make it work.’
Though a split is yet to be confirmed by the couple themselves, it looks like all might not be well in paradise.
