With great fame often comes great fortune. And with great fortune should come great generosity – yet sadly this isn’t always the case.
Which is why we love to hear about all those A-listers who do give something – or a whole lot – back to the community.
While money isn’t the most important thing, it sure does help.
But have you ever wondered which one of Britain’s iconic faces reaches the furthest into their pockets to help those less fortunate? We certainly have.
While some celebs are more open and vocal about their philanthropy, others are more subtle and secretive, making it harder for us to sing their praise for the good they do. Modesty, ey?
But the top 10 British donors have now been revealed, all thanks to the Sunday Times’ Charitable Giving List.
And some of the names up in 2015’s list may catch you off guard.

So there you have it.
The Tiny Dancer singer came out top for donating funds in 2015, with most of those pennies going towards Elton’s AIDS foundation.
As for Harry Potter’s creator, Lumos – the charity she founded in 2006 helping rescue institutionalised children – took a large cut of her £10 million sum too.
