Following the saucy rumours flying about that Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson were getting close, ex John Mayer has speedily reappeared on the scene.
In an apparent move to win back his California Gurl, the 35-year-old got on stage at his concert over the weekend in front of thousands- reportedly including Katy- and described her as ‘more incredible than I ever thought’.
The singer also told how the 28-year-old would talk for him early on in his relationship when he was recovering from throat surgery.
Introducing his new song, A Face To Call Home, he announced, ‘To Katy, who is my face to call home’.
The on-off couple dated for a year, before breaking up in March amidst reports that Katy was sick of his lothario ways.
Following their split, Katy admitted she still had feelings for him, revealing:
'I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him. All I can say about that relationship is that he's got a beautiful mind.'
'Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds.'
A source then told a UK magazine that her reported flirtations with Kristen Stewart’s ex were too much for Mayer to handle, explaining:
'John couldn't stand seeing Katy with someone else. He started texting her and sending flowers. He didn't want her to move on'.
It looks as though his plan is working, with the doting duo spotted celebrating Independence Day together last week.
