Rebecca Vardy denies the claim that she leaked private stories about Coleen Rooney and her family to the tabloid press.
The fellow WAGs have been contemporaries for years, with both Coleen’s husband Wayne and Rebekah’s husband Jamie both playing for England in the Euro 2016 cup.
However, Coleen has now alleged she has proof that Rebekah, who is eight months pregnant, has been selling stories about her and her family to The Sun.
Taking to her Twitter to share details of her sleuthing, Coleen screenshotted a statement that read, “For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my person Instagram account has been consistently informing The Sun newspaper of my private posts and stories.
“After a long time of trying to figure it who it could be, for various reasons, I had a suspicion.”

The mum of four went on to say that through a process of elimination, she blocked all her Instagram contacts from seeing her stories, adding that her friends and family must have wondered why she’d gone quiet.
And this is where it gets really juicy.
“Over the past five months, I have posted a series of false stories to see if they made their way into the Sun newspaper,” she continued.
“And you know what, they did! The story about gender selection, the story about returning to TV and then the latest story about the basement flooding my house.”
Coleen concluded her statement: “It’s……. Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

Rebekah then released her own statement proclaiming her innocence, writing, “I’m not being funny but I don’t need the money, what would I gain from selling stories on you?”
Claiming that “various people have had access to [her] Insta” and that “just this week I found out that I’m following people I didn’t know and have never followed myself”, Rebekah concluded, “I liked you a lot Coleen & I’m so upset that you have chosen to do this, especially when I’m heavily pregnant. I’m disgusted that I’m even having to deny this.”
