From the day you conceive to the day you give birth to your little one, your body goes through so many huge changes that it can often seem daunting when you feel like the time has come to lose the baby weight.
However, swimmer Rebecca Adlington has opened up about why new mothers should not be transfixed on changing their post-baby body as soon as they've given birth.
The Olympic gold medalist says that the physical changes to her body don't matter as long as she has a healthy baby.
"I still have my kangaroo pouch on my tummy," she told The Mirror.
"I don't know if I'll ever lose it but to be honest I don't mind ... I think it just shows that I have had a healthy baby."
Many new mothers are often made to feel as though they should be trying to snap back to their pre-baby bodies as soon as possible, but celebrities like Rebecca, and Imogen Thomas, are now stepping in to tell women to embrace their new bodies.
After all - they have just done something truly amazing, and not all women are blessed with the same opportunities, as this fertility blogger recently spoke about.
Rebecca, 27, welcomed her first child, Summer, into the world in June last year.
The world famous swimmer now goes to the gym three times a week and stresses that although she likes to cook simple and nutritious meals, it is not just about losing weight - it's about being healthy. She attributes her weight loss to getting back into a routine after the birth of Summer.
It is so refreshing to hear celebrities encouraging new mums to feel comfortable in their skin.
