After twelve years as head judge on Strictly Come Dancing, lovely Len Goodman will stand down at the end of this series (sob!)!
And boy does he deserve some time off, he's kept us entertained on Strictly live shows, christmas specials and UK arena tours since 2004.
But there's a more sombre reason why Len is hanging up his head judge shoes, as he's now revealed he's quit the show so can he can realy enjoy his retirement years - unlike his father who died at the age of 79.
Len, 72, emotionally revealed his thoughts in a candid interview with the Daily Mirror:
"That’s only seven years away from my age now, and although I hope to live until I’m 99, I need to have more me-time..
"All my friends are in Portugal playing golf and saying, ‘Len, do you want to come with us?’ and I have to say, ‘No, I’ve got to go and do Strictly’."
Fair enough, enjoy those twilight years!
We've still got loads of Len to look forward to, though, as he's just signed up for his last ever Strictly Come Dancing tour that's set to kick off in the new year.
He's also lining up a treat for the end of this series as he's going to perform a 'farewell dance' for us all.
Alongside his fellow judges Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, as well as hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, Goodman will say goodbye to the dance floor during the annual Christmas special.
Get your tissues ready, Strictly fans!
