Kensington Palace have announced that Princess Charlotte of Cambridge will be christened in the church close to the Queen's country pile at Sandringham on Sunday, July 5.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's daughter, who was born on May 2, will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby at the St Mary Magdalene church in a private service. The choice of that particular church in Norfolk is also thought to be in memory of Prince William's late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, who was baptised there herself.

Meanwhile, speculation has already mounted as to who will be named godparents to the tot. Although no official announcement has been made, many are speculating that the roles could be filled by a number of close family members, including Prince William's cousins Peter Philips and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, his brother Prince Harry and Kate's sister Pippa Middleton.
