The 36-year-old reportedly gave birth to the adorable twosome this morning, the first pair of twins in the Monaco royal family since the 13th century,

The South African was admitted to the Princess Grace hospital in Monaco early this morning where she allegedly gave birth by c-section.

Charlene’s 56-year-old husband also has two children from previous relationships, though due to him never marrying their mothers they do not have a claim to the throne of Monaco.

It is not yet known if the former Olympian swimmer’s husband was by her side when she delivered the twins.

Traditionally, the first born twin will become the ruler of Monaco, but luckily the doctor delivering the babies had no say in which was born first- that decision was down to Mother Nature.

Dr. Patrick O'Brien, spokesman for Britain's Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists told the Mail Online: “The obstetrician will always deliver first the twin that presents itself first when the uterus is opened at the time of caesarean section. We don't decide in advance which twin to deliver first.”
