Royal baby Prince George has been introduced to the Middletons, the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince Harry and the world's press, but he still had one very important persomn left to meet; his great-grandad, Prince Philip.

And now the little boy has finally been given his first cuddle from the Queen's husband!

Yup, Prince Williama and Kate (AKA Duchess Catherine of Cambridge) have joined the Royal Family’s annual Highland fling, along with seven-week-old George - and Prince Philip finally got the chance to meet his great-grandson at Balmoral Castle.

Poorly Philip was the only senior royal not to have been introduced to the newborn before yesterday, due to the fact he's been busy recovering from exploratory abdominal surgery, so its unsurprising that royal sources have described his first meeting with Geroge as an "incredible moment".

“This was an incredible moment for Philip."

"He has been desperate to meet his great grandson and having the family together is really special for him.”

The source continued: “This has been a very busy time for the Duke and Duchess."

"They have always been determined to introduce George to Philip as soon as possible, but there just hasn’t been the time until now."

“This will be a very special holiday for them all.”

There are also rumours that a four generation family photo will be taken of the royals during their time at Balmoral, featuring all three direct heirs to the throne (Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George), as well as HRH Queen Elizabeth II and the rest of the family.

We can't wait to see the snap!
