Ex-TOWIE lady Maria Fowler has faced a barrage of criticism for wanting to look good during the birth of her and partner Kelvin Batey's first child – who is due is a couple of months. Eeeeek!

Over the weekend, she reached out to her legion of Twitter followers asking if they could recommend anywhere to get ‘really good eyelash extensions’.

She wrote: ‘Anyone know where in Derby I can get really good lash extensions in September ready for due date pls? Gotta look nice on hospital pics’ followed by a whole load of crying face emojis.

However, some fans thought Maria’s decision to ever think about looking good during labour was ludicrous, bashing her for worrying about ‘looking nice’ on the most important day of her life.

Would YOU do this while giving birth? Photos of woman in labour go viral

Not one to take stranger's comments about her decisions lying down; Maria hit back.

Sadly, the tweets that Maria replied have now been deleted – but the cutting comebacks are still there.

Including those saying that wearing makeup whilst giving birth is ridiculous.

“I want individual lashes not makeup on. why the moral high ground over looking natural. You won't get a medal for it.”

She then replied to a fan who was full of support for Maria who said, “omg you'll be judged for brushing your fucking teeth at birth next. Why are people so anal"

Maria replied: “Because they're big hairy earth mothers with two 5 year olds probably still breastfeeding on them.”

Honest blogger Nadia Bartel admits: ‘I fake tanned and shaved legs – during labour!’

This isn't the first time Maria has caused a furoe during her pregnancy, people were quick to slam her decisions for enjoying an ice cream on a hot summers day not so long ago.

One wrote: “You need to be careful eating soft ice cream in pregnancy.”

Another commented: “Someone’s got to look out for your unborn baby, is it really worth risking listeria?”

However Maria was quick to shut down the comments.

“Of course I checked - [my] midwife told me it was fine and I look after my own unborn baby, thank-you.”

She added: “How rude.”
