Michelle appeared today (8 July) on morning chat show Lorraine, and she looked nothing like her former self.

Michelle came into the spotlight when she appeared on our screens in 2003 on Pop Idol, and she eventually went on to win the competition.

We are used to seeing her with golden locks but now Michelle is sporting a rather different new ‘do.

Take a look for yourselves:

That’s right, Michelle’s dyed her hair pink!

It reminds us of Frenchy from Grease, who she happened to dress up as just last month...

We think it looks amazing, don’t you?

But this isn't the first time Michelle's dyed her hair pink - she did it around this time last year too!

Not only has Michelle’s appearance changed but she has also had a change in career too.

The songstress has now turned her hand at comedy starring in her own show called Michelle McManus: Pop Goes the Idol, which is about her journey on the singing contest.

On Lorraine she also expressed her struggles about losing weight, as she faced a lot of criticism when under the spotlight. She explained: “It was difficult.

“Everybody wants to look their best and lose weight.

“The weight thing was such a big deal. It will always be a part of me...(but) if I’m a skinny minnie or if I’m not, I’m happy.”

Michelle also revealed her plans to get married to long-term boyfriend Jeff Nimmo next year, and joked she would “wire her jaws shut” in order to slim down before the big day.

She honestly confessed: “I don’t want to get married at this weight”.

Michelle then joked that Lorraine could help her out, as the presenter is also known for her body workouts and exercise DVDs.

What do you think of Michelle's new look? Would you be brave enough?
