Police are called after Sharon Osbourne throws a pen at an OAP during X Factor audition

X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne has been reported for assault after throwing a pen at 73-year-old Jonnie Rocco during his audition last month.

Sharon, who has recently replaced Tulisa Contostavlos on the panel, launched a foul-mouthed attack against Jonnie after he insulted her rocker husband Ozzy.

The OAP was rejected by all four judges following his rendition of Elvis Presley’s An American Trilogy at Old Trafford, Manchester.

After Sharon delivered her verdict, Jonnie – whose real name is John Johnson – began to impersonate her husband’s voice, adding: ‘You think Ozzy can sing?’

Sharon angrily replied: ‘Don’t you talk about my f_ing husband’ before ordering security, adding ‘Get him out of my f_ing room’.

She allegedly then stood up and launched her pen towards Rocco, which pinged off his shoulder as bouncers led him away from the judging panel.

Jonnie later called the police, claiming that Sharon’s ‘vile’ behavior had left him with nightmares and that the pen ‘could have knocked my [his] out’.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that they will be taking no further action but will be writing to the show’s bosses to ‘remind them of the need to conduct themselves in a professional manner’.

This isn’t the first time that the pensioner has caused controversy on the hit ITV show. In 2007 he issued a Mafia-style threat to judge Louis Walsh, after another failed audition:
