The writer and socialite was speaking at a swanky event at London’s Savoy Hotel, and was supported by mum Carole.
Tickets to the event set guests back at £132. Pippa reportedly revealed that she thought her role as royal bridesmaid wouldn’t extend further than putting on her dress and showing up.
Of course, the 2011 wedding made Pippa a household name, with a facebook group even being set up for fans of her pert bottom.
Pippa said at the event: ‘As I have found out, recognition has its upside, its downside and – you may say – its backside.’ She humorously added: ‘in retrospect maybe it fitted a little too well.’
One guest told The Mirror: ‘It was the first time she’s made a speech of this kind but you wouldn’t have known it, she was so relaxed. It was unbelievable how open she was – I don’t think anyone was expecting that.’
‘She talked about the royal wedding and her career since. She came across as really grateful for the opportunities but also talked about the pitfalls of her position.’
Since finding fame as the sister if the Duchess of Cambridge, Pippa has forged a career as a writer, releasing a party planning book ‘Celebrate’ and writing regularly for broadsheets like The Independent.
It has also been reported that Pippa is planning her own wedding after getting engaged to boyfriend Nico Jackson.
