Earlier this week, Nicki, 32, tweeted her fury following the MTV VMA nominations, complaining about double standards in the music industry.
Taylor, 24, was quick to retort, believing that Nicki was indirectly talking about her. Following an apology from Bad Blood singer Taylor today, Piers has insisted the apology was forced.
He wrote: "Absolutely ridiculous that @taylorswift13 has now been bullied into apologising. Quite obvious @NICKIMINAJ was talking about her.
"Total number of skinny white girls nominated for Video of the Year in this year's VMAs: One. Name: @taylorswift13. End."
Following the announcement this week, Nicki tweeted her dismay at her record-breaking video for Anaconda was snubbed from the list.
She wrote: "If I was was a different 'kind' of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well.
"When the 'other' girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination. If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year."
After initially taking offence and calling Nicki out for her post, today Taylor wrote: "I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I'm sorry, Nicki. @NICKIMINAJ"
