If there's one thing we love more than puppies, it's hot men who love puppies.

Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, has stolen our hearts with his latest Instagram post – by revealing he saved two French bulldog puppies from drowning.

The 43-year-old attempted to introduce his adorable pups, named Brutus and Hobbs, to their new home, but things didn't quite go to plan. Poor Brutus obviously received a shock when he fell in the pool, sinking straight to the bottom.

Alongside a snap of him with the pups after the rescue, Dwayne wrote: "Bring them home and I set them both down and they both takeoff in a full sprint and fall right in the deep end of our pool.

"HOBBS immediately starts doggy paddling while BRUTUS (like a brick) sinks head first to the bottom of the pool.

"I take off into a full sprint, fully clothed, dive in the pool, swim to the bottom, rescue my brick, I mean BRUTUS and bring him back to the edge of the pool. He was a little delirious, threw up all the water he swallowed and looked up at me as if to say, 'Thank God you didn't have to give me mouth to mouth!' and then ran off to play with his brother."

Dwayne then added a few lessons he learned from the experience, including the very important fact that not all dogs love the water.

But poor Brutus' bad day day didn't end there, because he was later taken ill and Dwayne had to rush him to the vets.

He wrote: "First I save this lil' zombie Brutus' life from drowning in the pool, now he decides to get all sick on me and having that awesome 'north/south' action coming out of both ends of his body. Fun night [sic]."

This is officially our favourite story of the day – we're just waiting for it to be turned into a movie.
