Zoe, who has dyed her hair brown for her new role as Reenie McQueen in Hollyoaks, admitted to Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley: “I just assumed that people wouldn’t recognise me, but they just go ‘oh you’ve just dyed your hair’.

“A lot of people have said that they really like it.”

She continued: “I did prepare [my daughter] Lilly that I was going to go dark because I was worried that I’d come home and she’d shout ‘stranger danger’ because it does look so different!”

However Phillip DEFINITELY seemed to be a fan of Zoe’s new look, confessing: “Well dark hair and blue eyes - and your eyes are very blue - it’s quite an attractive look, that.

“Are you going to keep it?”

Co-presenter Christine Bleakley (another dark-haired beauty) started giggling, causing Phillip to look straight into the camera and issue a firm "Stop it!" to viewers.

A very flustered Phil then admitted: "I have a thing for dark hair and blue eyes. Tim [the cameraman] does too, he's nodding his head," which set everyone off even more, especially Christine, who told him: "Yes, yes, we've just clocked that!"

Trying to get back the conversation back on track, Phil (whose wife just so happens to be blonde!) then turned to 40-year-old Zoe and repeat: “Will you keep it like that, do you think?”

Laughing at his insistence, Zoe replied: “I don’t know… I’m just sort of getting used to it really.

“It’s fine when I’ve got my make up on and stuff but first thing on the morning I still have a shock!”

We agree with the silver fox - Zoe’s new brunette look definitely suits her! But what do you make of it?
