Phillip Schofield has jumped to the defence of his co-presenter Holly Willoughby after she was branded a bimbo
The 32-year-old This Morning presenter came under attack in a British newspaper yesterday, by a celebrity agent who called her ‘talentless’ and ‘eye candy’.
Describing the hiring of Holly on This Morning, agent Jon Roseman- who has managed Fern Britton, Natasha Kaplinsky, Jill Dando- said it represented ‘just how far female presenters have sunk today’.
An unforgiving Roseman wrote:
"Just in case you ever wondered what was so wrong with television today, you need look no further than presenter Holly Willoughby and the news that she is on her way to amassing a £10 million fortune”.
'How has she done it? Not by showing a single flicker of talent, that's for sure'
"How has she done it? Not by showing a single flicker of talent, that's for sure. Can she ask a searching question? Can she empathise without blubbing?"
However, Holly's 51-year-old co-presenter Phillip Schofield hit back at the attack, branding Roseman ‘washed-up, old and out of touch’.
'When did the rants of a washed up, out of touch, inaccurate, old TV agent become relevant? Must've been paid by the word.#SodOffJonRoseman'
Taking to Twitter, he raged:
"When did the rants of a washed up, out of touch, inaccurate, old TV agent become relevant? Must've been paid by the word.#SodOffJonRoseman."
He went on to retweet a reader’s comment: “Unfortunately for Jon, most of Britain likes Holly and isn't too blind to recognise desperate, embittered headline-seeking.”
The ITV presenter then added:
“He's got to be careful, or we might start discussing him. And that would be interesting”.
Holly in the mean time maintained a dignified silence, tweeting only, ‘Girls!!!! I love my girls!!! Xxxx’ yesterday, referring to a recent night out.
The model turned presenter’s career appears to be going from strength to strength, and she has returned to host talent show The Voice this year.
