Tissues at the ready – Fern Britton and Phil Vickery have announced they’re splitting after 20 years of marriage.
The couple are a mainstay of the ITV family, with Fern presenting This Morning alongside Phillip Schofield until 2009, and Phil still hosting regular cooking segments on the show.
After meeting on the set of Ready Steady Cook, they wed in the year 2000 after Fern’s divorce from her first husband, Clive Jones.

They issued a joint statement on Twitter which read, "After more than 20 happy years together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways.
"We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children . We would appreciate it if our privacy is respected at this time. Thankyou for your continued kindness and support."

In 2018, Fern opened up about the secret to their happy marriage.
"We have let each other have our freedom. He's a man who has always got to meet a man about a dog," she told The Mirror.

The couple share a daughter, Winnie, who is 17, and Phil was stepdad to Fern’s three children from her first marriage.
