Peter Andre has opened up about his relationship history in a new interview, praising wife Emily as one of the ‘women who turned his life around’, although he declined to mention ex-wife Katie Price who he met in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here jungle and was married to for four years.

Peter met Emily in 2010 when he was treated by her dad at a Somerset hospital after suffering with a painful kidney stone. At the time, Emily was a 19-year-old medical student.

"When you meet a proper, beautiful, educated lady like Emily, if you want to be taken seriously you have to put in 100 per cent straight away," Peter, who asked for Emily’s father’s permission before dating her, told The Sunday Times.

He revealed that the pair took their relationship slowly at first because he was reluctant to bring a new woman around Junior and Princess, the children he shares with Katie Price.

"I just didn’t think it was right to have a woman coming into their lives unless we were both serious,” he explained, adding that the kids called her ‘Aunty Em’ in the early days of their relationship.

When asked about his relationship with first wife Katie, Peter refused to comment, saying: "I just don't go there. Sorry."

He did however comment that his past relationships as a young man were “all about looks.” Continuing to gush about Emily, he added: "You eventually find out that you need a friend, someone who you know and trust inside and out.”

Katie famously hit out at Emily earlier this year after her comments about drinking were perceived as a dig at the Pricey.

After Emily suggested that ‘not drinking’ was the key to a long relationship, Katie – who was arrested for drink driving earlier this year – responded by angrily tweeting: “Emily bind your beak.

“Don’t judge me, watch my show at 10pm tonight on @QuestRedtv then see if you digs about me #donthatemecauseyouaintme."
