Peter Andre's wife Emily MacDonagh has opened up about the moment doctors told her she might have to have a hysterectomy.
Emily, 27, gave birth to the couple's second child, Theo, last November. She had to have an emergency caesarean when the baby was breached, and has said she felt "robbed" of a natural birth.
Emily spoke to The Sun Online: "There was a moment when the obstetrician said to me that one of the risks was there are times they have to perform a hysterectomy after the caesarean if there is loads of bleeding.
"And I thought, 'Oh my god I didn’t even think about that.' You have to process the information and you have to go and have the C-section, obviously it's very rare but you suddenly think, 'Wow they might have to do that.'
"There was a point I remember thinking, 'Wow this is a huge deal.' I just remember looking at Pete across the room and we were like, 'Oh my god'."
Peter was proud of his wife for staying calm, saying: "I was worried seeing her go through something so traumatic and you're not taking care, the doctor is. You're leaving everything in their hands.
"She never makes a big deal out of anything. And when you're in that moment and have that fear, it's the scariest thing in your life, but Emily is always so calm."
Fortunately for Pete, who has already said he would like them to have another baby, Emily said: "The traumatic birth hasn't put me off having another child. I was lucky with Amelia as the birth was quick, and when you see your baby and smell them it's all worth it."
Baby Theo is the couple's second child after daughter Amelia, who was born in January 2014. Peter also famously has two children from his previous marriage to Katie Price, Junior and Princess.
