Writing in his weekly magazine column, singer Pete revealed: ‘I’ve been asked if Ems and I would consider a home birth if we were to have another child.

‘I think we would,’ he said, before adding: ‘But it’s different for us because her mum is a paediatrician!’

41-year-old Pete referred to recent new draft NHS guidelines, which suggest more women should be giving birth at home.

‘It’s been advised that low risk women should be encouraged to give birth at home and that it’s as safe as hospital and much more pleasant. This is a subject that would be good to discuss with Ems because she would know.’

‘I might be wrong, but I think many women would feel safer giving birth in a hospital. They might feel having their baby at home is a bit primitive. I think the NHS needs to emphasise how safe it is.’

Pete welcomed daughter Amelia earlier this year after Emily went into labour three weeks early.

He is also dad to daughter Princess (6) and son Junior (8) from his marriage to Katie Price.
