New dad Peter Andre has written a song for upcoming children's animation film Mr. Peabody and Sherman.

Peter's song, titled Kid, will feature as the end credit track on the film, which is scheduled to hit cinemas on 7th February.

Speaking about the film, Peter - who recently welcomed a new baby daughter with wife-to-be Emily MacDonagh - said: "I saw an early cut of the film and loved it – it’s a must-see for the entire family.

"Kid is a song about the adventure of being a dad, the mischief, the fun, the exhausting joy of what kids bring, and it’s very up-tempo to match.”

Peter, who also has two other children - Princess and Junior - with ex-wife Katie Price, added: "It is great to be working on something that I can see with my children, and I am so excited about this partnership."

The lyrics include:* "You're the smallest and the greatest thing I ever knew*

"But at this stage you act twice my age and tell me what to do

*"And hey, won't you notice me?

"Cos I'm noticing you...

"The things that I do, well, they ain't no fun without you"*

The movie tells the story of an accomplished dog who adopts a young boy; together they use a time machine to go on adventures but wind up changing world events by accident and dealing with the fallout.

Ian Morton, VP of international promotions at Twentieth Century Fox explained that they were very happy to have peter on board for the film's soundtrack:

"Peter was the natural fit for the film and it is great to see that the film has inspired such a great song."
