Peter Andre talks baby safety: ‘I love animals- but I’m not one to let dogs jump all over babies’

Following Simon Cowell’s dog being pictured licking baby Eric Cowell on the nose, Peter Andre has spoken out about letting dogs play with very young children.

Writing in his column, Pete defended the music mogul saying: ‘I’m sure it was completely harmless and I’m sure Simon would never let his boy come to any harm.’

The 41-year-old also acknowledged that in the right situation, dogs and babies can get on famously.

He said: ‘You’ve got to understand that all dogs are different- certain dogs are harmless, others aren’t.’

‘As long as the baby was OK, that’s the main thing,’ he added.

He revealed that he personally would not let his newborn get too close to any friendly canines.

The reality star/singer said: ‘I love animals, but personally I’m not one to let dogs jump over babies.’

The star is in good spirits after celebrating his 41st birthday with fiancée Emily and children Junior (8), Princess (6) and 2-month -old daughter Amelia.

He also revealed that he is hoping baby daughter Amelia will become bi-lingual and is speaking to her in Greek and English.

The star said: We think it’s really important for her to learn… When they’re that young they’re really open to language, so I’m making a point of doing it.’
