Pete’s brother Andrew Andre passed away on the16th December at the age of 54, and his family have spent much of the year mourning.
With the anniversary of Andrew’s death creeping up, Peter has opened up about how 23-year-old girlfriend Emily’s pregnancy has helped him through a tough year.
‘The pregnancy has made me so happy but my family and I are still going through a dark time,’ he admitted.
‘It is going to be a long while before we feel any sense of normality again.’
Speaking about his planned paternity leave and upcoming tour, the Insomnia singer added that he would ensure that he does not miss Emily’s birth.
‘Only parents will understand this but there is no high, not even a sell-out gig at the O2, that can compare to the birth of your child’.
Peter can be seen discussing 8-year-old Junior and 6-year-old Princess’ future brother or sister frequently on his show My Life, and admits this will be the first time he witnesses a natural birth and breastfeeding.
And it looks like Pete is keen to make an ‘honest woman’ of medical student Emily, who is in her final year of studies.
As well as hinting that he was planning to have a second marriage on his show, he has admitted to reporters:
‘I think everybody knows I'm going to do the right thing.’
Hinting that the news might come soon, he added of 2014:
‘It’s going to be a great year.’
Emily is due to give birth in February 2014.
