Victoria Beckham was recently pictured with her three year old daughter Harper, who was sucking on a dummy. Apparently this is past the recommended cut-off point, so the 40 year old has come under heavy criticism.
VICTORIA BECKHAM BLASTED AFTER HARPER IS SPOTTED WITH A DUMMY
"Most people agree that prolonged use of the dummy can damage the teeth, by pushing them forwards and getting them misaligned," a pregnancy expert told the Mail.
"It can also affect speech development, because so many mothers stick a dummy in their toddler’s mouth just to shut the toddler up. The toddler just sits there sucking away on its dummy and doesn’t talk or do anything.
"If a mother allows her toddler to have a dummy in her mouth for large parts of the day, she will definitely stunt her speech development."
DAVID BECKHAM AND ROBBIE WILLIAMS UNITE TO PROTECT CHILDREN IN DANGER
However Peter Andre has now rushed to defend Victoria, writing in his column: "Honestly, people need to take a chill pill. Every child is different so who are we to tell them what their child should or shouldn't have?
"When she's had enough of her dummy, she'll get rid of it."
He then went on to explain that Princess, his daughter from his marriage with Katie Price, also sucked a dummy until she was about three years old… but that Amelia, his baby with Emily MacDonagh, refuses to have one.
Pete said: "I remember the day Bista [Princess] threw her dummy in the bin. She was about three years old and she said 'Dad, watch this,' and dangled it over the bin.
"I told her that if she dropped it, that would be it. She did drop it and I was really proud… but then she started sucking her thumb!"
He added: "Millie has never taken to dummies. I tried her with one once, but she refused it.
"She was like, 'That ain't no candy!'"
