After her split from Zayn Malik, 22-year-old Perrie has been throwing herself into her work with Little Mix. They’re currently on a promotional tour of America and dropped by The Late Late show for a chat with James.

Lovely James, 36, pulled Perrie in for a big hug and asked how she is getting on.

He said: “Are you ok? It has been a tough few weeks.”

But, as ever, Perrie put on a brave face and replied: “Do you know what? I’m good. Things have been going well in America. I wake every day and thank my lucky stars that I have these three girls.”

While Perrie was getting on with things and working on getting new single Black Magic up the US charts, Zayn, also 22, was busy burning more musical bridges.

The former One Direction singer blasted DJ Calvin Harris on Twitter and sent a barrage of childish insults.

Perrie admitted she's leaning on her band mates during this difficult time

Calvin, 31, took the high road and wished Zayn well, but the spat was just one of Zayn’s questionable moments in recent weeks.

After ending his engagement to Perrie via text message, reportedly kicking her out of the apartment they were sharing while they waited to move into their new mansion and allegedly pursuing CBB star Chloe Goodman, he threw major shade at Little Mix online.

Don't hold back, Zayn – say how you really feel!

When asked which he preferred, Little Mix or Fifth Harmony’s current single, Zayn opted for the latter.

But the girls seemed far from bothered about Zayn’s opinion as they gave an amazing performance of their hit, which spent three weeks at number one in the UK.
