The Beatles star has applauded Miley’s headline-grabbing actions over the last few months, saying we’ve seen worse than that!
The ex-spouse of Heather Mills even admitted that he was happy that his 10 year-old daughter had watched the now notorious VMA show that featured Miley and Robin Thicke performing ‘Blurred Lines’ last August.
He commented ‘I think it was only mildly shocking … it wasn’t explicit at all,’ when asked what he made of the young singer’s lewd antics.
‘Come on, we’ve seen worse than that! I watched it as an experiment to check, but you look at it and you say, “what’s everyone shouting about?” he added.
Miley’s infamous performances have caused a few ructions in the celebrity world, including a feud with 80’s pop songstress Sinead O’Connor.
‘Come on, we’ve seen worse than that!'
Sinead, 47, has written a total of four open letters to Miley following an interview with Rolling Stone where Miley stated that her raunchy music video ‘Wrecking Ball’ was inspired by Sinead’s pop video for ‘Nothing Compares 2U.’
The first open letter showed concern for Miley, but she also slammed the singer for prostituting herself for the music industry.
“The music business doesn’t give a s**t about you, or any of us.
They will prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think its what YOU wanted.'
Miley reacted in typically defiant fashion, Tweeting images of Sinead when she was being treated for mental illness.
The 20 year-old singer’s twerky ways won’t be something she’s regretting as her album ‘Bangerz’ and single ‘Wrecking Ball’ have both topped the charts, undeniably helped by her provocative performances.
‘Wrecking Ball’ again caused a storm as it features a naked Miley swinging on a wrecking ball in the nude.
Sinead expressed her own distress for the video, which Miley claimed was inspired by her.
“I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way ‘cool’ to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos.”
