Paloma Faith has gone into detail on her choice not to reveal her child's gender in public
Singer Paloma Faith sparked conversations when she gave birth in December 2016, announcing almost a year later that she would be raising her baby as gender-neutral.
To raise a child gender-neutral means that a parent makes a conscious effort to avoid giving gender-specific items to their children, for example blue clothes for a boy or dolls for a girl.

Paloma, 36, has not revealed the gender or name of her 13-month-old child, who she shares with her long-term partner Leyman Lahcine.
While many have bashed her parenting choice, she revealed that the real reason for raising her baby in this way is actually for their own privacy.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain earlier today, she said: "I refer to my child as ‘they’ in public. In private I refer to them as their gender.
"I don’t believe that celebrity culture is healthy for a child."
So she's referring to her child's gender in the privacy of their own home - but in the public eye she won't be referring to her child's gender.
That makes sense!

Paloma first announced her plans for gender-neutrality back in October last year, telling The Mirror: "I love being a mum! I want two or three kids in all and they'll be gender neutral.
"I just want them to be who they want to be," adding that she would not be dressing her children in stereotypical "boy/girl" colours.
