Photographs have emerged of Sandro Rottman with Katie Price and ex-husband Alex Reid in August 2009, as he helped her during the launch of her polo riding range at Sotogrande in Spain.

On Sunday, the suspected paedophile died in the same luxury resort after British father Davinder Kaith, 40, caught him photographing his young daughter on an iPad and attacked him.

"Katie has no recollection of meeting him"

A spokeswoman for the Civil Guard said: "The discussion apparently began because of alleged recordings that the victim was making of the aggressor's daughter.

"When he (the aggressor) saw what was happening he took the tablet off him, saw the recordings, threw the device to the ground and attacked him.

"The victim had been arrested by the Civil Guard a few days ago for possession of child pornography."

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Rottman with "very serious" wounds, although no weapons had been used in the altercation.

He was taken to hospital, but later died from his injuries, causing Davinder to be arrested on homicide charges.

Mr Rottman, 43, who was arrested over child pornography a few days before his death, had posted this image on Twitter showing him holding a young girl to his chest.

A few days before the attack took place, a disturbing photograph emerged of Rottman holding a young girl to his chest.

The 43-year-old captioned the image: "Just finished a day with the most beautiful girl in the Beach Club of Sotogrande.

"Hope one day I will have one my own."

When asked to comment on the incident, a spokeswoman for Katie Price said: "Katie was present at an event where Mr Rottman was working for the organisers.

"She has no recollection of meeting him, but it appears she did during the course of her one day working trip to Sotogrande.

"This is clearly a tragic incident that will impact the families of all involved."
