Katie Hopkins has left many of us furious on very many occasions; whether it was her hatred for ginger babies, or her candid confession to judging children by their names or… well, or anything she's said, the former Apprentice star has managed to hit a nerve with almost everybody.
She went a step further this week when she used her Yahoo column to voice her hatred for several different "categories" of mums, including "fat mums", "home schooling mums" and "stay-at-home mums" - read what she had to say here.
Unsurprisingly, many weren't happy with Katie's comments. But, while most usually vent their anger through expletive-riddled Twitter and Facebook posts, this mother has finally taken the time to sit down and write a letter to Katie Hopkins.
And it is, in a word, amazing.
She begins: "May I call you Katie? Maybe I should stick to Ms. Hopkins, because you’ve made it clear - you don’t like me.
"In fact, apparently, you hate me. A lot.
*"I don’t really get why you would feel such hate towards me; it’s such a strong, negative word and I wonder why you feel the need to use that word against someone you don’t know... maybe you have issues? *
*"Anyway, I digress. This isn’t about you, It’s about me. Or, more particularly, what you don’t like about me. And I almost feel I should apologise, because it seems, in that department, I’m very, very talented. *
"I said almost."
The mother of two then goes on to explain that she chairs the PTA of her school, home schools her children and has given her children an iPad - but that, despite Katie's outspoken views on the subject, her family are flourishing.
*"I am overjoyed with my two very different, very individual children... And I am overjoyed to parent them both in the way they need, however different they are. *
*"I could say that you are very lucky to have had 3 children who are all utterly identical, but it’s far more likely that they aren’t all that similar, they are simply terrified of stepping outside of the tiny box you’ve defined as perfect. *
"But they will, Katie. You just wait, oh.... they will."
It gets seriously inspirational towards the end, when Karen says she's writing this on behalf of every single mother and father out there, all of whom - like her - are doing their best for their children:
*"This is to every single mum and Dad who got up this morning determined to do the best for their child. Even when breakfast was supposed to be banana museli but ended up being chocolate pancake. *
"Even when the school run degenerated into a series of rants about lost ties and shoes and unbrushed teeth. Even when homeschool started with a game of minecraft.
"Because life isn’t about living in a box."
