If there's one thing we know about One Direction fans, it's this - they're seriously dedicated to their cause. So we imagine they will be VERY pleased to hear that 1D's Niall Horan has said a big fat YES to plans by the local council in his hometown to build a museum in his honour.

That's right - a MUSEUM. In his honour. The Niall Horan Museum.

Our jaws hit the floor too.

Niall Horan is, of course, only nineteen years old, so it remains to be seen as to how full the museum will be - but the project in Mullingar, County Westmeath in the Republic of Ireland, has already sparked a lorra lorra excitement.

Councillor Davitt explained to the Sun that Niall - and Niall's mum - are backing the plan majorly, as they're both keen to promote Mullingar on a global scale.

"Fans come here every day looking for Niall's house - they also go to Tesco looking for his dad Bobby - so it would be great to have somewhere for them to go."

Yes. Yes it would.

Niall’s brother Greg is also a fan of the idea, telling the Irish Mirror, “It would be fantastic if they do actually set up the Niall Horan museum, it would be great for the town."

"Niall has always been a big Mullingar man, he's never forgotten when he comes from - so he will definitely support it. It really would be good."

The museum, if plans go ahead, promises to mainly focus on Niall and his life, with artefacts from his home and screens showcasing a few of his 1D performances. Bu, just in CASE this doesn't fill an entire building, the museum will also include details about the lives of other musicians from the area.

But, before fans begin to panic, Davitt insisted that the One Direction man will always be "the star of the show as our most famous son."
