Olly Murs: ‘Replacing Dermot O’Leary on The X Factor is going to be tough’

Olly Murs has opened up about replacing Dermot O’Leary as host of The X Factor – and he doesn’t think it will be easy.

The 30-year-old and Caroline Flack, 35, were confirmed last month to be taking over from Dermot, 41, who has fronted the show for eight years.

While Olly and Caroline have experience of presenting The Xtra Factor together, the singer thinks his friend Dermot will be hard to replace.

He told Free Radio: “It’s going to be tough for me and Caroline obviously replacing someone like Dermot.

“I think the great thing is we’re going it together as a team, and I think it’s gonna give the show something different.”

While the show’s presenters have been sorted, as usual rumours have been flying around about who will be judging the talent.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is allegedly staying, while it’s been claimed that Spice Girl Mel B has been given the boot.

It seems Olly and Caroline are being kept in the dark as much as the viewers! He continued: “I’m interested, as everyone else is, to see who the judges are gonna be, I don’t know who they’re gonna be yet. (sic)

“It’d be great to go out with them before the show starts, to get to know them. I just want us all to have a great chemistry and a great laugh.”
