It seems as if they’re dropping like flies on The X Factor at the moment.
Shortly after reports his co-presenter Caroline Flack has been fired from the show, it has now been revealed that Olly Murs has quit The X Factor.
Olly announced his decision to leave the show in The Sun, saying: “This was an incredibly hard decision to make and one I didn’t take lightly as I’ve really enjoyed co-hosting The X Factor.
“It’s been one big adventure and I loved every minute of it. But my heart belongs to music and I want to concentrate 100 per cent on making my next album and getting back to performing.”
However show insiders have claimed that Olly quit only to save himself the embarrassment of being fired.
Speaking to The Mirror, they explained: “Simon Cowell likes Olly and doesn’t want him to go under a cloud so he’s being given the chance to walk before he’s pushed.”
They added: “Olly always said he would never present the show without Caroline.
"They come as a package. He had a good time on the show and got on very well with everyone but realises his forte is music.”
Nick Grimshaw also recently quit his role as judge on the show, claiming there was “no bad blood” between him and show boss, Simon Cowell.
All of this in February - we still have MONTHS to go before filming starts!
We wonder who Simon has in mind to replace Nick, Olly and Caroline…
