Olly Murs has discussed his future with The X Factor, hinting he may not return as a presenter next year.

The singer, who presents alongside Caroline Flack, explained that he'll have to make the decision based on his schedule with his music.

He told The Daily Star: ”I’d like to do next year. But I’ll have to look at my music.

“I’m writing a new album and when I make these decisions I’ve always got to look at my music.”

Olly was the runner-up on the show in 2009, before returning to host The Xtra Factor then taking over the main show from Dermot O’Leary.

The star was back on form this week after slipping up on last Sunday’s show, announcing which act was going home before it was confirmed.

He told OK! Online of the mistake: "I apologised to my team, I apologised to myself. I said 'why have I done this?'

"I set myself very high standards, so I obviously let myself down but you've got to move on. It's live TV, so that's what happens."
