X Factor host Olly Murs has had a time of it lately following his untimely split from girlfriend Fran Thomas.
Though he has his new X Factor role to distract him, he is still dealing with his heartache over the break up.
In his new book, the 31-year-old has revealed that his massive female following was a source of tension in their relationship.
He wrote in ‘On The Road’ that he often kept Fran ‘hidden’ in order to protect her from fans’ comments.
Olly says: “A lot of my fans are girls, so it can cause problems, obviously. Sometimes I’ll ask Francesca to stay in the people carrier when a crowd comes around.
“From her perspective she’s thinking, ‘Why am I a secret? Why are you putting me in a car?’ And I say, ‘You can come and stand with me if you want’, but if someone comes up and asks for a picture and says, ‘Olly I really fancy you, you should dump your girlfriend. You should get rid of her and go out with me’. It’s not nice.”
Olly and property developer Fran split earlier this year after dating for 2 years.
The couple met at V Festival in Chelmsford with sources claiming that the pretty blonde was the “first woman he planned a future with”.
Speaking to the Loose Women, Olly said: “I’ve just gone through a break up with my girlfriend, which has been quite sad, quite a difficult couple of weeks.”
Poor Olly!
