Yesterday, it was revealed that the Spice Girls were planning a big reunion concert for next year.
And now, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner (Halliwell) have confirmed that they want to celebrate 20 years since the release of their first single Wannabe, by throwing a HUGE party!
However, the three girls uploaded the video captioning it ‘GEM’ – which could be the name they are now going by.
Most probably, this name has come from the three girls’ initials (Geri, Emma and Mel).
In the video, Mel starts off by saying: "We've been thinking. We have the best fans in the whole entire world."
Geri then added: "You've stood by us for 20 years and we want to say a big thank you."
Then, the moment Spice Girls fans have all been waiting for – the three girls revealed they are holding a ‘party’ and everyone is invited!
Scary, Baby and Ginger all took to social media to share a celebration photo and reveal the link to the video and website, but they haven’t given away when and where – or even what – the party will be.
However music producer Eliot Kennedy – who has frequently worked with the Spice Girls – told Good Morning Britain they have been working on new music.
He said: "We have been in the studio, with just three of them - Mel B and Geri and Emma - and we had a fantastic couple of days.
"We wrote a brilliant song and the energy was exactly like it was 20 years ago, just as enthusiastic, just as much to say, just as much to celebrate.”
"I think they have something to do with way female artists are perceived in the pop charts nowadays, I think they've had a massive effect on pop music and pop culture, so it's a good time to celebrate," he added.
It has not yet been confirmed if Mel C and Victoria Beckham will be joining the celebration, but fans are holding out in the hope that all five girls will reunite for the big party.
We for one cannot wait to see what the girls have in store – we’ll be keeping an eye out for our invite!
