The X Factor judge wed her French lover on the Caribbean island of Mustique after just three months of dating.
Nicola was not at the wedding (just a handful of witnesses attended the nuptials) but she wasted no time in defending her friend after Cheryl was criticised for what many dubbed a ‘hasty’ decision.

The 28-year-old red head wrote on her Instagram page: "You can be in a relationship for two years and feel nothing; you can be in a relationship for two months and feel everything.
"Time is not a measure of quality; of infatuation, or of love."
Cheryl announced the engagement via social media, posting a photo of her glittering wedding band and massive engagement ring with the captions: "I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news... Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14.
"We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together."
Cheryl’s dad, though not present at the wedding, revealed that only very close family and friends knew about her decision.
Gary Tweedy said: “She has left it for a while before making it public because she just wanted it to be kept completely private.
“I knew about it but Cheryl did that quite deliberately. And it worked.”
