But rather than take the comment to heart, McLean responded: 'thank you x' before moving on to thank her other Twitter followers for their birthday wishes.

Early on Thursday morning Nicola posted the heartbreaking message that she wanted 'today to be over already' despite it being her 33rd birthday.

But fans and celebrity friends alike have been bombarding the blonde model with congratulatory messages, with Jodie Marsh tweeting: 'Happy birthday beautiful. Hope you have an amazing day.'
