Nick Grimshaw has spoken openly about his sexuality in one of his most personal interviews to date.

The Radio One presenter and X Factor judge has never felt that he needed to hide his sexuality and as a result claims he has never felt the need to ‘come out’ as gay.

Nick, 31, told Radio Times: "I never felt as an adult that I even had to come out.

"I only feel like you're coming out if you've been married, or pretended you were straight."

He added: "I never had any false thoughts in my brain. I didn't have three kids and then go, 'Guess what guys?' There were no bulletins to be delivered because it was all I ever knew."

It was reported earlier this year that Nick is now dating photographer Michael Mayren.

Sources told The Sun that the pair spent Glastonbury in each other’s company before celebrating Michael’s birthday at Babington House Hotel.

Date nights may be put on hold in the coming weeks as the X Factor live shows start to intensify.

Nick’s three acts Mason Noise, Shaun Miley Moore and Che Chesterman have managed to hold on to their spots, but how long will all three boys be left in the show?
