But the 38-year-old isn’t letting her reported split from Dan Hooper keep her down: she’s getting excited about Shayne Ward’s Coronation Street debut as her character’s cousin Aiden Connor.
Former X Factor Shayne winner, 30, will be joining Kym on the cobbles soon, and admitted he’ll be bringing some ‘much needed eye candy’.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk at the British Soap Awards, Kym said: “We’re very excited about Shayne coming in, it’s nice to have another Connor joining the Street.
“We’ll just have to wait and see what dramas he brings, but I’m sure he’s going to be great.”
Former Hear’Say singer Kym also insisted that she thinks Shayne will be great, despite being a pop star.
She continued: “There seems to be a couple of ex pop stars coming in, but you know what, I was also a ex pop star and I’ve worked out brilliantly because I’ve been there for 10 years and it has been great.”
It was recently confirmed former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding will also be joining the ITV soap.
Kym added: “They’ve obviously done a fantastic job in their auditions, no doubt they’re going to be fantastic.”
